“While looking for a centralized location from which to hike different areas in the Black Forest, this place popped up. Only positive things to say! Beautiful, quiet, comfortable, with hosts that really care about you and have pride in their location. Some of the best hospitality I have experienced in a while. Breakfast was typical German offering, with bread, cheeses, meats, and a soft boiled egg. They also offer muesli, granola, yogurt, jelly, etc. Coffee in a carafe waiting for you. Fueled me for hikes over the 3 days. I love the black forest and these folks helped me explore more of it by participating in the Schwartzwald Plus card (Konus?). I didn't know anything about this and it lead to experiences I hadn't planned in Alpirsbach and Mehliskopf (free downhill cart ride? Yes, please!) Frankly, it highlights why I need to come back. I love the hiking, but these were cool things to consider! (Who doesn't want to go to a Black Forest Cake baking class??) Amazing stay, great people, and I hope I can return someday.”
